MSE Energy Club & Co-op

I switched to Co-Op energy through MSE Energy club. I thas taken 4 months for them to complete the switch. They added a £50 goodwill payment for the delay and now have removed the payment again from the account without notification, My follow up emails have been ignored. They are a nightmare. I shall NEVER use MSE Energy club, nor CO-OP Energy again.

Comparison sites do nothing more than provide an energy cost comparison and referral service. In the case of the latter, all they do is pass on your details to your supplier of choice for which they may, or may not, get a referral fee. They do not monitor your actual energy transfer. Transferring your supply is a Licence condition placed on the gaining supplier. Suppliers have 5 weeks from the date that they receive a request to switch to carry out the actual transfer. That said, over the past few weeks the roll out of an updated IT system has delayed gas transfers. If you believe that the Coop has breached its Licence obligations then make a report to:

    Consumeraffairs@ofgem.gov.uk

Ofgem will not investigate your individual complaint. You need to follow the Coop's complaint process followed by an escalation to The Energy Ombudsman after 8 weeks if the complaint is still not resolved to your satisfaction.

I have just switched to Coop Energy through MSE.
It has taken 35 days and their communication throughout this period has been nothing short of abyssmal.
My welcome letter arrived over two weeks after it was allegedly sent and I have had no correspondence since, although the switch completed on the 18th July.
I have had to send them readings on my own initiative, as they never requested them (a letter was allegedly sent on the 14th July but has not arrived as yet)
My profile on the website has a partly incorrect address and phone number which Coop says I must have given them!
Not impressed with the 'welcome' process.
They will have to improve or I will be moving again next year.

Lets hope you move suppliers more frequently than you post on this site

How can a credit be removed without notification?

Surely it has to be shown as a debit, hopefully with a brief explanation as to why.
