Leaving flat before end of tenancy arrangements

    In which case as it was a fixed term of more than 6 months so you would be liable for the council tax to the actual end of tenancy - in most cases people are liable but there are some cases where they are not and they cease being liable for the council tax on vacation (rather than the end of the tenancy).

    I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.

    Just a wild guess but ..... 24 months seems more likely! Typo?

    Otherwise advice as Craig says above + previous advice.
