wages/smp update for T/C

My daughter needs to do her renewal now for her tax credits....she's been on maternity leave since April 2016 took 12 months maternity leave then handed her notice in to set up as self employed....we have the correct figure they require for 2015/2016 and the correct figure for 2016/2017 but we don't have the p60 to show how much actual pay was earned wages...accrued holiday pay and actual SMP for the 2016/2017....( this was estimated and is about £5000 less than actual income)
Do we need the break down or do we just submit the actual figure
Many thanks

SMP is just employment income. It doesn't go in a separate section of the form. The first £100 per week of SMP is not included, up to a maximum of 39 weeks. The working sheet in the renewal notes confirm this.

Also why didn't she receive a ap60? What date did she leave employment?

Hi ...she did receive a P60...but we have missed placed it.....
So do we deduct 100 X 39 off the final salary for that year or do we submit the full amount and assume tax credits will do the necessary deduction at their end....or have we missed something on the form where it asks about SMP or something......
Would it be easier to renew via phone to make sure it's done correctly

    TIA

She needs to make the deduction herself. They won't know how many weeks she was on maternity leave for.

Many thanks for the help. ;)........
Ok we have filled the forms in as far as the details they required.......now we need to tell them that she started self employment just four weeks ago...so do we need to tell them what her estimated earnings will be for this year 2017-2018 as there is no box asking for this year's estimate..or will the just use 2016-2017 figure... Or do we wait for the renewal to be awarded then phone and tell them....I know they can't always update for advance info but we're not sure if we tell them now about this or after the renewal has been done

    Hope that makes sense

She'll need to report a change of circumstances. She can do this by phone, online or in writing.

Thanks...but do we do this when she renews now or after the new award has come through

Changes need to be reported within 30 days of them happening.

Can we send a letter in with the renewal pack or is it a different dept .

You said the change happened four weeks ago so she should really call to report it or do it online as the renewal could take weeks to process. Renewals are also scanned in so entirely possible the letter could be overlooked.
