Magnet clean central heating or leave well alone?

My plumber is replacing a radiator. He has suggested a cleaning of the fluid in the central heating and adding a magnet to keep it clean.
Given that the boiler is 24 years old, is it worth the expense at this stage? The boiler is a WBosch 240, we've been told that, if looked after this boiler could outlive the newer models.

It won't do any harm and the filter will stay when the boiler is replaced.0
