Hi

Some advice please

A family member recieved a letter to an address which i used to live at asking for outstanding amount to be paid off a bill from npower....the letter was sent by a recovery company as they said npower had been to court in 2015 approx....i have had no letters whatsoever no did i have any bills in my name nor was i responsible for any at the time for the business address. It was another member who was responsible for it at the time

Recently a letter has come for the amount outstanding plus interest to be paid

What should i do about it?

Was there a problem with the security of mail to that address?

You say there was no bills received, and presumnably no correspondence from the court either?

I think Royal Mail can assist with alternative methods where delivery of mail is iunsafe (e.g. arrange for you to collect it from them)

Once you have that sorted, get copies of the court papers and post legible copies here.

If the court judgement has your name on it, then all you can do is appeal to the court for that to be changed. Until then, or at least until you get the court to stay the matter, the judgement is live and you owe the money.

I suggest you seek independent legal advice.

    Good luck!
