I'd heard years ago that corner houses were potentially more prone to break-ins due to having more potential escape routes. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0

We used to throw the carp in the car and park it round the corner when we had viewings.

How about the goldfish?
I doubt a goldfish has ever put anyone off buying a house!
A pyranha or a python, maybe!(I just lurve spiders!)

Not sure if I did OK, or got carried away ...
Needed 2 lampshades, found two brand new ones, matching, for £1 each.
Didn't need any more vases... but there was a very large round one about 2' tall, for £2 ... so I thought "why not" as I do have some flowers that might fit and are currently in a 2 litre drinks bottle with the lid cut off... having got it home, the vase is a bit large/tall for those flowers, but what the heck, eh.
Kitchen clock... having spent 3 months looking for one at a car boot, not finding one, I ordered one last week - which underwhelmed me when I hung it up. Found another, that's about 2cm larger and lighter/brighter, so for £2 thought I'd give it a go. Need time to swap/compare and think about which is best.
3 wooden picture frames that hold postcards, all held together by rope, "brand new" .... £1 - bizarre purchase as I'd need to find the right postcards/images to put in it, but at £1 it seemed like something that "might come in handy" if I ever get the right sort of postcards/images
Lampshades were needed though - top hallway and Bed2 had nothing up at all.
The thumb I ripped open on a bramble thorn the other day's giving me a bit of trouble... it's very slightly swollen.
I also went to the tip, in passing, and dropped off the table ... wish I'd packed the clippings bags, but that's life.... I might go later, or not.0 -
Finding jobs to do that are inconsequential and could've waited
Another prioritisation fail ... but I can justify them.
Took a big item from the shed to the tip - and those 2 bags of clippings. Big item from the shed frees up space to move stuff about, to potentially put packing boxes/materials in there, or something....
... in a bit. Have a rest/coffee first
EDIT 1.05: I really CBA, I've got burn out .... weather's overcast and it's a bit muggy and I can't find any enthusiasm ... and don't know where to start .... hope something changes. Agent expected back for photos in 25 hours... so it's at least not today.
EDIT 1.55: Done a tiny bit of de-brambling... tough going... inch by inch with tiny secateurs and my already damaged thumb (and a few fingers now too). Every little helps.... I keep telling myself.
EDIT 3.10: A bit more brambling/clearing has gone on .... got 95% of the brambles snipped off above ground level.... I'm not going to go digging it all out! That's never been on the list. I don't do "digging earth, with a fork, getting sweaty"0 -
You learn something new every day ...
... who'd have thought that a standard/small lampshade fitting would be "too big"
I've wedged one precariously between the twisty plastic bits.... but the other one I didn't even bother doing that.
I am "nervous" about just allowing it to rest on the bulb itself as that's not how they're supposed to fit.0
