I'm enjoying following your progress. Just got to get motivated to sort my own house out.
It's not been easy for me to "keep going" - and, most days, I've done nothing/little, but I just keep plugging away, one tiny bit at a time...0 -
All sounds very promising, PN.

Ditto, ditto, ditto, with knobs on!:(
Perhaps we should all just put our houses on the market; that should galvanise us into action! :rotfl:
I thought you had got a lot of your house sorted, though, Lydia, painting the living-room and changing the carpet and all?
Or am I mixing you up with Viva again?:D:D
(By the way, I do that with people in RL, too.)

Bugg4h that, I've only been here a bit over 2 years and the veggie beds are working much better than last year.
So's the greenhouse - just had a lovely mug of homemade roasted tomato and onion soup, so I've poured another. I'll have to make more to go in the freezer now
Besides, I haven't worn the house out yet - heck, the novelty's barely starting to wear off, let alone the house0 -

No, that was me. Although it's the dining room that got new carpet.
There's still a lot of clutter that needs sorting out and severely pruning, but I find it very hard to get motivated.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
Just tried to put the picket fence into the ground... and broke it, so had to fix it.... I'll give that another go later. Somebody said "you just push them in/bash them in" - whereas my method before had been to dig a hole and place them in .... then press the earth back round with my boot. Trying to bash these in simply made the uprights come away....
Trying to fix the "floor strips" now... but where did I put the superglue? I know I have about 6 little squeezies of it - stored in a jar - and they should be under the stairs... but I can't find them - however, in looking for them, I did find some curtain hooks. Don't remember buying those, but I must have! That's good as the rings will come soon and I'll need the hooks to put the curtains up.
So, no further forward on anything in that list really .... but I tried!
EDIT:
Found the superglue... I'd moved them from inside a peanut butter jar to inside a wet tissue travel pack ... so they were right in front of me but I was looking for a peanut butter jar.
Just went outside to try to glue to split divider together before I cover it - but it's well breezy out there - too windy to be sitting and trying to hold something together and faff about with superglue!
But I've got what I need, that's a start.
EDIT 2:
Decided to have another go at the picket - and got the "digging thing" from the shed.... which is a bit like this: https://www.worldofwolf.co.uk/images/products/large/LN2K_1.jpg
Dragged a lot of soil from the ground, in it went, trod down... looks all right. It could do with a little more attention in the near future, but I've other stuff to do around it, so that'll get done.
1 tiny and inconsequential job .... off the list
EDIT 3:
I've done the first flooring strip ... that's the one you do first, then realise how you should've done it differentlyNo worries, I'll just have to do that one with two layers as I was over-cautious with how much "overhang to fold over and under" I needed. Looks good. Just this one to do again - and two others. Didn't superglue myself, or anything else, to the floor: always a bonus.
I used £land "fablon" ... which is a tad thin if I'm honest... might end up doing two layers on them all... there's plenty in the roll.
Cost to buy new £9x3 = £27.
Cost to "fix" using £land superglue and fablon = £2.0 -
PasturesNew wrote: »I sawed two 1.5" pieces of wood. That's a small step forward....
It was a little picket fence that needed cutting in half to fit. Measured it 5x to decide the best place to cut it... measured it 2 days ago, it's "just sat" waiting for me to "be bothered" to actually cut it at the marked spot
It's pretty natural to take a bit of time to pluck up courage, if you have not done it before very often. Plus wood is quite expensive. Well done for getting it done. :T:T
My woodwork teacher at school really did say 'Be careful with that wood. It doesn't grow on trees, you know.' :rotfl:No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

And me and even if I get motivated my body tends to say "Hell no!" and gives up the ghost before I even get half way.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

Bit of a daft dilemma.... I had a paint roller tray and a roller brush ... so I thought I'd wash them out/keep them "in case" (sign of a proper hoarder).
Before I've used "small versions", so managed to faff about in the loo sink with those, but these are the standard sized tray and roller.
But I didn't want to do it in the kitchen sink, so I went outside and washed the tray out in a plastic flexi tub, the one that's outside for gardening/weeding jobs. Next, I put the roller brush in .... and started swooshing it about ... and then realised "what the heck am I going to do with this water?" it needs to be poured/emptied somewhere - and I'll need to repeat that to clean this roller.
It's water based emulsion ..... and white-ish.
Not sure how to go about it all really....
Maybe I should've just binned them both from the start.0 -
