Walkers used to do a rather nice Lamb one in their Sensations range, supposedly based upon a North African lamb dish - then they dropped it :-(

Some of the non-potato crisps are rather nice - I'm somewhat partial to Tyrell's Parsnip crisps myself.

Never tried those lamb ones. I like the parsnip ones, but I like parsnips.
Tried some mixed root vegetable ones a while back. From Tesco I think, can't remember the brand.
Really nice and "rooty" Not too salty either IIRC.
    Quite expensive though.

M&S used to sell some lovely olive-oil crisps.
They were my downfall. They were gorgeous!

They sold them for a bit, then stopped, then sold them again, then stopped.

    I forget the brand name.

Edit....they might have been Torres, but I can't remember.

Torres also do the most wonderful almonds. No skins.
They squeak when you crunch them! I'm not joking! They really squeak!

    I don't mind a few almonds, but I'm not a big fan.
Like a lot of things really. As a mate of mine says, "Great for a different taste, but you wouldn't want a meal of them"

The squeaky ones are very different though, not like yer usual almonds.

    But then I like almonds.

Years ago as a student in the 80s my flatmate went to London to meet a visiting relative when to everybody's surprise he arrive at our flat in a place our lovely Nikkster would recognise.

When we tried to find food for him he was insistent that crisps were absolutely and totally the very thing that the UK excelled at in the European arena and he was very satisfied with the range we offered him.

The rest of the EU doesn't seem to have explore the full flavour spectrum of crisps, so enjoy them while they're here.

I don't find the Walkers C/O as good as they used to be, but they're still my favourite. Also Walkers Tomato Ketchup, which I treat myself to mostly at Xmas. But they're not as good as Tomato Ketchup crisps used to be.

About 50 years ago I used to have crisps by a firm called Chipmunk, called Oxo Flavour. They were gorgeous, but I probably had the last packet of those in 1970 and they've not been made for decades. 4d a packet crisps cost back then :)

The volcano that's erupting in Hawaii... Went there two and a half years ago. My husband wouldn't come with me because I wanted to do the short hike through the Thurston Lava tube. He said "what do you want to do that for, you might get trapped underground in an eruption". So off I toddled by myself and it was a fantastic experience.

I went to the crater rim and there were people hiking across the caldera. Since then it has dropped 100ft and has magma spewing out. The good thing is this is one of the most monitored volcanoes in the world so nobody should have been hiking when the caldera sprang back into life.

Thankfully the area is beautiful but sparsely populated, unlike the area in the shadow of Vesuvius if that ever erupts again.

    I find volcanoes fascinating.

I had to google Thurston Lava Tube!
Even though I did get an experimental surf band from Leicester, (one of whose songs was "Move over Rover, let Clover take over"), before I got the geological feature!

I'm not sure that a lot of things taste as good as they used to. I don't think it's just me either.

I'd forgotten all about Chipmunk crisps. Another brand gone, although looking around the snacks section in Tesco there seems to be more choice than ever.

Fascinating yes. But after seeing a TV programme about them which showed one if not several pyroclastic flows happening, I reckon they're pretty scary too.

I'd still want to go and have a look though if I was near one! :D

    Not done much today...

Biggest "win" of the day was to simply see the top of a coffee table by hole-punching all the stray letters on top and opening the unopened envelopes and putting everything into a ring binder + empty the shredder (which had been full for 4 months) in order to shred more letters etc. Now just need to decide if that coffee table's going to the auction, or if I'll just unscrew the legs and shove it out of sight somewhere and keep it. It's "of no particular note or value", just a stray item bought 2nd hand for about £2.

You have to feel sorry for poor Mr and Mrs Owen, who are due in court yet again next week.

She wants a divorce, and to get one inside 5 years, she has to prove her husband's unreasonable behaviour. Only, so far, several lower courts have decided that he hasn't been all that unreasonable. There's no doubt the marriage is over for all practical purposes - the couple live in separate houses, for example.

Normally, in these cases, the husband would take the blame and agree he'd been unreasonable, and the court would rubber-stamp the divorce. Only, in this case, the husband doesn't want to. (In my view that indicates unreasonable behaviour on his part, but it doesn't count for divorce purposes.) And the only other ground for divorce that fits the facts is 5 years separation, which the wife doesn't want to wait for. So, the ruinously expensive case is moving on to the Supreme Court.

Nope, if your spouse wants to divorce you for "unreasonable behaviour", you do not need to "take the blame", nor do you need to "agree" that you've been "unreasonable". You merely have to sign to say you're "not contesting" the divorce. Been there, done that. I refused the "two years' separation and we agree about wanting the divorce" thing, because I didn't agree that the divorce was "the right thing to do" but was quite willing to say I "didn't contest" it when he petitioned for it. As I said to him at the time "I can't in good conscience help you to do something I believe to be wrong, but I'm under no obligation to try to stop you doing it if you choose to."

Oh, and BTW "unreasonable behaviour" doesn't actually mean that the person has behaved unreasonably. It's shorthand for saying that the person has behaved in such a way that it would be "unreasonable" to expect you to continue being married to them.

Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
