You may find it easier to give to charity than sell. Round here, British Heart Foundation are the ones for secondhand furniture and the like.
I'm still thinking through all the options and routes.... still awaiting the first chat about potential dates, so planning, but not committing0 -
The easiest solution is to offer the fridge freezer to your buyer.0
-
I didn't assume they were first time buyers nor that they didn't already have one. When we moved here we bought furniture from the sellers, we were pleased to be offered some things and in fact we exchanged washing machines. We moved from a 4 bedder to a 3 bedder so already had plenty of stuff but what they had was what we wanted and they did not have room for it in their new place so it was win win all the way. Have you asked them if they would like any of your stuff or are you assuming they won't?0

"Three allow tethering of the full amount of data you have in your plan and if you have an unlimited plan they have a fair use policy of 1000Gb"
Now, as I naively read that, my brain would say that means: If I get a three telephone, then I can potentially use that phone as a hotspot (somehow) and then connect my PC to the three phone to get Internet on my PC (I have a wifi stick for the PC).
At least, that's how I read it.
Three have an unlimited package...
So, it might be that the quickest/easiest way (apart from trying to learn about tethering and get that right) would be to:
1/ Buy a Three mobile.
2/ Transfer my existing mobile number to the Three service (the number that I'm currently changing from UW to Mr T today).
3/ Put the new Three phone down on the table (unless it rings) .... then get my PC out and connect to the Three mobile on the table - and sit here typing on my keyboard.
What would be the benefit of doing it that way?
One mobile-phone, no mifi router required.
One bill (Three mobile-phone) -v- Two bills (a Mr T mobile-phone & a mifi contract/bill).
I'm sure your current phone could be a hotspot for three (or any other sim provider), it might need unlocking but that will be a lot less than a new phone. The smarty sim I mentioned has 1tb per month fair use, unlimited calls and texts and no restrictions on tethering. Not sure how it compares in price to the three sim you are looking at?I think....0 -
Is there room for the fridge freezer anywhere else in the house? We left a 7-drawer freezer in our last house for nothing and the buyer reckoned he could use the freezer space.
We had found it immensely useful (but not the quietest machine ever). I still miss it as we could buy tons of reduced items and store them till needed. It did get to the point though that I struggled to keep track of what was in each drawer.
Speaking of things I miss, I've been getting very nostaigic about he moon missions. The channel 4 programme about it at the weekend was stunning.
I'd draw your attention to this music vid. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

I'm flitting in and around this subject... I'd already taken a quick peek at the smart website and thought "that'd do, cheers Michael" - and the next stage would be to investigate/compare three -v- smarty for price.
I don't know what that term unlocking means, it's always sounded like something dodgy people do
I bought the android phone outright from Mr T in 2012.
I went onto a £10 Pay Monthly tariff, so no contract.
My primary area of interest at this point was to be able to have a portable camera that fitted in my pocket + I thought I'd switch over my existing mobile number onto that (but that didn't happen; it was done yesterday).
I thought I'd be able to use it on the Internet if out/about - this rarely ever happened because the majority of the time I didn't seem to ever get a signal. I also discovered that by the time I get a browser up and poke very slowly into google to try to search for things, it would've been quicker to drive home and use the PC. I've seen a couple of mobile phone interfaces too and discovered "I can't do/find what I want on this; I hate this; PCs rule".
Poking at the phone now, it appears to be a Moto G. Android version 4.4.4.4.
Although this looks like I know what I'm talking about, it was an accidental find when I just poked at the screen into settings and there it appeared to be0 -

While it's OK for one to choose to have a F/F anywhere in your house you like ... it'd be an unwelcome find for a new buyer walking in and finding it in the waySpeaking of things I miss, I've been getting very nostaigic about he moon missions. The channel 4 programme about it at the weekend was stunning.

I have missed all this moon stuff. I didn't know it was on at all.
This is the first I've heard mention of the moon etc....
I keep a notepad file on my PC and jot down things to watch that come to my attention. I'll add that CH4 Moon to the list to look for.
I'm about to give up my TV license. Not sure about dates on that yet though. There's a new series of Who Do You Think You Are starting this week - and that's on iPlayer; you can't watch iPlayer without a license!0 -

Just had a thought about this..... I need clarification.
I have a mobile handset I own.
In it is the SIM it came with, but I changed the number of that yesterday.
My connection is through Mr T.
If I chose Smarty/Three, what'd I have to do?
If I use my existing handset, would I need to "buy a new SIM then get my existing number moved to their service? Or just "get my existing number moved to their service?"
I don't really understand SIM cards at all.
If I'd thought of all this earlier and knew it was possible (3-4-5 years ago there were fewer options to do this tethering/mifi stuff), then I'd have done the number swap to the new provider and cut Mr T straight out of it all.... but what's done's done.
My plan is: On the day of exchange get all this started/sorted so I can sit with my PC and have it set up beside me while I faff about with it all.... so then, to move, I just put it all in a box to come with me, already working and ready to go. It'd be daft to leave here, then try to buy/set it up!0 -
It turns out that I dodged a bullet.
I volunteered for an Alzheimer's drug trial, partly out a sense of public good, but mostly out of curiosity. I was almost set to start taking the drug (or a placebo) but that got put on hold because of my operation. Then, last Friday, they announced the drug trial was ended because they "identified worsening in some measures of cognitive function". In other words, it made the participants even stupider than we must have all been to agree to take part.
I had an incompetent colonoscopist who couldn't remove a small benign lump, so I had a massive operation to remove said lump, but on the plus side I haven't had my brain poisoned. And that's all linked. I'm hoping it's random, because any God that thought that lot through is really hard to fathom. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0
