Paid a litter fine 2 days late..might be due in court but ex is keeping the letter

Hi, first time posting.
I was issued a fine at the beginning of March for dropping a cigarette butt on the floor. I asked the fine to be frozen for 3 months until the 3rd June, and it was allowed. Anyway, I completely forgot until I was reminded by a friend 2 days later so I paid it rIght away on the 5th.
Today I got a call from my ex, who the letter was sent to, saying that I'm due in court. However, my ex won't tell me when I am due in court and is now saying he has binner the letter, as a way to get back at me for breaking up with him.
What I'd like to know if any one has had a similar experience with paying litter fines late and if so how much were you charged and did you have to go to court?
I'd also like to know what i can do to find out when I could be due in court for late payment.
This has been worrying me sick, and any advice would be great, thanks.

Contact the court, they will know when / if you have to attend. Best also give them an address where you can receive post. Maybe start by saying you are phoning to confirm they've received the payment.what i can do to find out when I could be due in court for late payment
Courts are very much more bothered about people who haven't paid, when they start chasing.
If he's said that in writing / text / e-mail etc. he might find himself in court. Criminal courts have a public viewing area, so you can watch.is now saying he has binned the letter0 -

Fair play to him for finding the bin....

Why haven't you told the court what your real address is? And why didn't you set up a mail redirection when you noved from your ex's address?0
