Property Owner's Liability

The exterior of my house needs decorating so I found my decorator of many years use has retired.
I got one to come and inspect, but have heard nothing more from him.

However a friend said her next door neighbour did hers and so he has had a look and is willing to do it.
It is not a large job as I have uPVC fascia, soffits, guttering etc. so sadolin on hardwood window frames, and paint on garage door and 3 gates, + paint on concrete surround of front door.
He is retired and what worries me is that if, heaven forbid, he had an accident he would not be insured.

I also have to employ help with housework and gardening due to advancing years

I have looked at my buildings insurance and have Property Owners Liability for £2m but does this cover it?

That insurance will likely only cover you in a situation where you are at fault. So if, for example, he just slips and falls off a ladder without any fault on your part, the insurance will probably not cover him for his injuries. However, you can only know the answer to this definitively by either reading the terms of your policy or calling you insurer and asking. It would probably be much quicker to do the latter.
