Digital Goods - refund?

I bought a software key from EBay on 6 May 17 and paid via paypal.
The software was advertised as 5 years worth of updates (Antivirus software) but after a month has stopped updating.
I have contacted the seller, but not heard anything back yet and so am just wondering if there would be anything i could do via EBay/Paypal?

eBay (not covered):Vehicles, Real Estate, Business & Websites for Sale, Digital Content, Intangible Goods, Classified Ads, Services, and some Business Equipment categories.
Paypal:Your purchase is an eligible purchase. Purchases of most goods and services are eligible (including travel tickets, intangible items such as rights of access to digital content and other licences), except for the following transactions:
Your claim may or may not fall under a Paypal SNAD and it would depend on how you present the case to them.
If you describe the item as 'failing after a month' then it wouldn't be SNAD. If you claim it was 'described as having xyz and it doesn't have those parts' then you may succeed.
I would suggest in any claim you draw attention to the Paypal user agreement quoting section 13.4(a).

If your AV software was out of date the software key would presumably update to the latest version loaded on to it. It may or not have the past five years of updates on it but I would not expect it to continue updating - it won't know AV updates in the future! The software was advertised as 5 years worth of updates (Antivirus software) but after a month has stopped updating.0 -
I would contact the software maker, because they can tell you what the status of the registration ID is. e.g. they can tell you if it was blocked because the same number was given out to hundreds of users. Armed with that information, you could have a case of fraud when speaking to PayPal.Warning: any unnecessary disclaimers appearing under my posts do not bear any connection with reality, either intended, accidental or otherwise. The software company blacklisted the key and cancelled it.
The seller has provided a new key, however, what's to stop this happening again?0 -

I think you have a totally different case now when calling PayPal, see if the poster above who has experience calling PayPal concurs.Warning: any unnecessary disclaimers appearing under my posts do not bear any connection with reality, either intended, accidental or otherwise.
