Collection only item, buyer wants to pay by Paypal and arrange courier

I have done quite a few collection only items - some gone smoothly and some with problems but they have been low value items so not a problem.
This is the first time I have sold a high value item for £125. Had stated collection only in the title as well as in the listing itself.
It is a large item which would be difficult to pack.
It has a slight defect as well which had been mentioned in the listing so I had stressed the buyer must see it for himself, try it out etc.
Now the buyer wants to pay by paypal and wants to arrange his own transport - not sure if it will be a courier or a man with a van.
I have read the sticky and have read most other posts with similar problems.
I know what everyone is going to say - that I will not have protection and I can't prove delivery etc.
Looked at buyer's feedback and it is all good.
I am also worried about the item getting damaged with the courier as I will not be able to pack it.
Can I ask the buyer to pay by bank transfer (that still leaves the problem of packing with the courier) or can the courier pay me cash???
If I cancel, the next bidder was only a about a tenner less.
Not sure how to go about this! Help!

Tell him its collection only as it's too awkward/expensive/time consuming to pack.
Cash on collection or bank transfer would be safest.
But stress that it is a price collected as it stands, not after preparing for a courier. Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.

As you have read the sticky about collection only items then you know what I am going to say - collection only does not mean send a courier.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Message the buyer and explain politely that the item is too difficult to pack and needs to be inspected on collection to ensure the buyer is happy, so a courier isn't an option.0

Thank you for all the advice.
I did message the buyer and put forward my concerns. He immediately made arrangements to come and collect in person.
Worked out nicely as he tried out the product, was happy, paid me in cash and left me a glowing feedback.
