The Creators Update came out in April.
And confusingly will be reprised in October by Creators Update II.
(or more correctly, the 'Fall Creators Update')

To the OP. It's a large update which basically reinstalls Windows 10, so definitely will take more than a couple of minutes.

Yes but it hasn't automatically rolled out to many computers yet.
I think the OP is referring to the message which appears in Windows Update which says it's coming soon, and I think you can opt to download it now.
It's not such a bad plan to choose when you have this large update, as you can take a backup first, and set it going at a time when you're happy to leave it going for a couple of hours.

Microsoft will push the (existing) Creators update to you when they have tweaked it enough that it won't upset your particular model of computer. In the meantime, they have apparently asked people to not install it 'early'.

It stopped me connecting to the internet. Sticking with W10 ver 1607 was good enough, thanks.

It was "pushed" to my laptop a couple of weeks ago and I have had absolutely no issues since installing it.
