Auto Clicking on a Button on a Website (Is it possible)

Looking for an idea to see if this is possible.

One of the contracts I have, I get a text message to tell me a job is available I go to a web page or the company app and click a button to accept the job.

Nice and easy, but in a large part of the area I cover every job that is sent by text is gone within 2 seconds. So I assume someone has some form of auto accept set up on the website to automatically press the job accept button when it pops up.

Is this something that is easy to do or do I need to get a web competent person in to write something to do the same., as in the past 18 months I have not managed to pick up a single job in the postcode areas this is happening.

Help advice or pointers to a service would be much appreciated.

Does the text contain "accept job" button or is it a link to a web page which contains the button?
Can you be alerted by email or is it text only?
If you put your general location in your Profile, somebody here may be able to come and help you.

Surely pressing the button isn't the controlling factor. It may well be that others receive their texts before you and the job is gone before you even read about it.

Its an accept job button on the webpage

I get a push notification and and email and a text

The company has looked into it and says all jobs go out at same time but one account is picking up jobs within 2 seconds of them showing on website and often before notifications are sent

The only advice they could give is to play the same game and automate job acceptance

I have tried having the webpage open and on auto refresh but jobs are still going 99 times out of 100 before I can click manually

maybe there's something that can be done with iftt (IfThisThenThat), but you'd need to understand what the site is doing. Is the link to the page generic, or specific to you? How does the website know that it's you that clicked on it or someone else? Is it a URL served solely to you (it would have a very long url), or it is a generic url/button, then anyone clicking on it has to enter their details on the next page?

When there aren't any jobs going, is the button still there? Does the URL change when there is/isn't a job going?

In the short term, you could experiment with manually refreshing the page frequently (press F5 on your keyboard), which would be more frequent that autorefresh.

I already have a chrome extension that can be set to refresh page every couple of seconds

Problem is jobs arrive when the insurer loads them so can go hours without a job then a few arrive.

Not practical to sitcat PC for hours waiting for them

    Will investigate the links idea

    Thanks

Without knowing more details of the site my guess would be someone has had an automated web script written for them which keeps reloading the page and either just keeps sending the accept job button or scans for it appearing and immediately sends a response as if a user has clicked the button. It's unlikely to be easy to do and it's also likely it will need updated from time to time as small changes to the website can unintentionally stop the script from working. Or the company might intentionally put steps into the site to prevent automated scripts running if they're seeing several of them running against the server.

    That's just total guesswork though.

Yes it is certainly possible to write a program that would monitor and respond to a webpage by clicking a button. I used to manage a website that required several thousand repetitive actions, and wrote a program to do that, This was a few years back, and I used Adobe FlashBuilder, but there were lots of alternatives.
However what would be the point? A number of users would go down this route, shutting out all real users. You're better to contact the host and point out to them that their website is not serving its purpose. Soon they will lose all their contractors (what's the point in following wild goose chases?) and the customers will see through the fiction that their requirements are in some kind of competitive bid situation.
It is really up to them to provide a solution before their business dies. They could add a captcha which would defeat the automation. Get back to them.

it is extremely easy to do it while you are not in front of your PC, AND if that button always appear in the same place AND does not use Capture or verification technology, it takes 5 second to do.

You need a keyboard macro and mouse recorder. Think this should work:
    https://autohotkey.com/boards/viewtopic.php?f=6&sid=c2b544e77b1d5f0ff3949dff01126de2&t=143
    Or this https://www.autohotkey.com/docs/AutoHotkey.htm

If you are paying, there once was one macro recorder that read, or noticed paged differences and would act on that, but cant remember its name.

Once installed, maximize page, start recorder, now do this fast: move it to empty area and click to be certain of mouse/page focus, press F5 - to refresh, wait a second as not all web pages load equally, click in area where button should be. Stop macro. Now auto replay it in a loop and walk away.

........and if all or any of these solutions work for you be sure you both wish to accept every job and can cope with them without any vetting of them by yourself?
