Hi all,
Just wanted to know if you think this is a reasonable price for some outdoor lighting installation -

- Cabling to run from fuse box down side of house.
- Dimmer switch installed on inside
- 2 outdoor mains sockets installed
- Labour
£250
thanks

Sounds a bit pricey but hard to tell without know the length/route of the cabling and what cabling is going to be used.
One thing - rather than a dimmer, use something like an LED filament bulb - look nice and welcoming and a lot more energy efficient.0 -

Really ? Going from info posted Price is to cheap for works to be correctly done....
No mention of separate RCBO etc even if existing CU has RCD new external lighting / power IP44 fitting (that’s min standard you know its going to cause havoc come winter ) I’d say bodger so in that instance expensive because there not doing it properly ?0 -
No mention of testing either. Sounds cheap to me.0

Well, to be fair, inspection, testing and certification is a requirement of BS7671 so if the work is being carried out to that Standard then it will be included. It doesn't necessarily need to be explicitly stated (although many would for clarity).MisterP123 wrote: »No mention of testing either. Sounds cheap to me.
However, I agree that it sounds excessively cheap.0
