Anyone got Co op / CIS car insurance?

Options
Hi I quite like the look of the Co-ops car insurance. I'm being offered a very competitive price with £60 QUIDCO. Has anyone had any experience with car insurance with the co-op (CIS) and if so did you go through QUIDCO and did it track??

TIA

I have car insurance with the Co-op/CIS. Had it for years so never went through quidco.

However, although they insist they have won awards on the way they deal with any claims... their admin abilities are somewhat lacking!!

Eg when thinking of changing my car, I rang for a quote, made it clear I didn't own the car but was contemplating buying it and they then transferred my policy over onto a car I didn't own and wanted to charge me £17 for the privilege of amending/messing up my policy! Tried to sort that out and they messed up the direct debit cancellation for the extra £17 fee etc etc.

Never had to make a claim yet, thankfully, so don't know how well they handle that.

i have had a claim through co-op cis i wrote off my car on boxing day though so wasnt the best time for them. took them 3 weeks to send someone out to check it was a write off and the settled very quickly after, i actully got a good price to. also i had some modifactions to the car which should of voided the insurance but they never said nothing about them and paid out.

Not car insurance, but I did get their home insurance through Quidco. Tracked and validated smoothly as you like, and their customer service has been top notch so far...

I had to call them to go through a few details, and went straight through to a real (British) man who was friendly and helpful at 5pm... and he got me a special offer on accidental damage cover for 12p which was then waived because I'd already paid!

Their home insurance always includes free legal cover as well - don't know if car is the same.

But if their car insurance services are anything like home insurance, I can recommend highly. Especially through Quidco :-)

i used to be insured with cis and they were very good i had several claims and they were always very efficient and helpfull. when i had my car stolen and written off they were also very helpfull and took into acount the condition of the vehical and offereing over the book price in settlement, they alwaysused to be very traditional and our insurance man always used to bring the new policy round and collect the premium (10 years ago) also he would offer to come and help fill in/collect claims forms. i would have stayed with them as i was always happy, but once my car was stolen and written off, i replaced with somthing alot newer on finance and was looking to reduce the cost of fully comp insurance. i have since changed my car insurance provider 3 times because they have wound me up in some way and this would not have happened with cis...but you get what you pay for..luckily i have not had to make a claim since leaving cis.

They don't do that anymore - you have to ring to change your policy. Never had errors when it was a specific insurance man you dealt with, but lots of admin errors when ringing up - and the staff are UK based.

Thanks everyone. I will click your thank you buttons when they reappear!

I went with the insurance as it was the best available price but hasn't tracked on QUIDCO yet :( still early days though as I only bought it 24 hours ago.

  • The deals they give are very competitive but what they surely lack is admin qualities and i myself had a really bad experience with Co-op Insurance it took me around 2 weeks to get a simple car accidents claim.

but still best of luck ...!!!
