Hello,
I new to posting on here so please bear with me. I worked for a company last year for 2 months got paid 2 weeks late both months so left. I received a P45 with no figures on, no payslips or P60. I a due a rebate and dealing with HMRC (I previously owed £170 from a previous tax year which has been covered by my overpayment). The companies response is below is this correct. Many Thanks
With regards to a P60 the company has no obligation to provide you with one as you were not an employee at the end of the tax year. When you left you were provided with a P45.
With regard to the P45 it is correct with no figures on it as you were on a week 1/month 1 tax code as directed by HMRC. I am sure if you were to contact HMRC they would confirm this to be correct. I am presuming that if you have started a new employment this has been given to them and there should be no problems.
I will send copy payslips to you tomorrow if you still require these.

If you weren't an empoyee on April 5th then they are right that you were not due a P60. I'm not really sure what they mean about the P45, when you say that it had no figures do you mean just that, or did it have some figures and not others? Either way the simplest thing to do may well be what they suggest, call HMRC.0

Did the P45 have three sections marked Part 1A Part 2 and Part 3?
Part 1A (which is your copy to keep for your records) should have details in sections 1 to 6, no figures in section 7 and the earnings and tax figures for your employment at section 8. These details should then be repeated on Parts 2 and 3 apart from section 8 which is not shown. Are you saying that section 8 was blank or all sections?0 -

Advise your old employer of this and definitely confirm you want payslips as I suspect this is probably all you are likely to get. Just to clarify when was the P45 issued and when did you get paid? If for example you worked in 2016/17 tax year and was paid in that tax year but the P45 was not issued until 2017/18 tax year then there would be no figures in section 8 but then you should have received a P60 for 2016/17.0
