Inviting pm's is probably only going to attract people trying to sign you up to MLM schemes which you need to avoid!

It is possible to make money on eBay or amazon still many of us on the board have businesses. The one thing no one will tell you though is where to find a stockist as we keep them close to our chest when we get a good one. However, we can help with other tips and suggestions and there are sticky threads to help with the basics.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. The majority home eBay sellers will put in a lot of work to be profitable, and with the kids whilst the hours may be flexible, it may simply be another demand on your time. You may find your partner benefits more from an evening job for a couple of hours once you're home to tend to the kids than trying to make the equivalent profit via eBay where the competition is immense0

Yes, there is money to be made if you can source unique products to sell and have plenty of time to grow the business.
What you shouldn't do is join the race to the bottom by using the same suppliers, wholesalers, drop-shippers that everyone else uses. If you become a "me-too" retailer, the only thing you can compete on is price, which is pointless, because there'll always be someone else willing to undercut you, hence race to the bottom.
Find a niche product - that's where the profits are made. But even then, it's short term because others will see what you're selling and try to source it to sell themselves at a lower price. So you need to be one step ahead of the game.
I had a client who did very well sourcing and selling "niche" items, and it earned them a fair amount of profit, BUT, it was all encompassing as they had to spend so much time on the "next new thing". They had to be constantly innovative to find new products (and in fact starting to have their own products manufactured where they identified a demand but couldn't find suppliers). They basically "lived" their business 12-18 hours per day, 7 days per week, to keep on top of it.0 -
Regarding selling on eBay, there is plenty of superb advice in this link.

Moreover, find niche products. For example old books, old game consoles and old games. To find the products, visit charity shops, second hands etc.0
