    I wasn't being rude.

As an example, the west wales coast line has lovely views but if having to jump in a car when you run of milk might not put off some people whereas others would run a mile.
Seconded - there wasn't much to go on in the OP. Are you 25 or 90 or somewhere inbetween? Buying as a couple, family (schools?), or a single person? Need to commute/be near a station? My list of requirements/areas that would suit me would be very different to my next door neighbour or my sister!

Not heard many nice comments about Watford but St Albans often gets a good write-up.

Nothing rude about it. Perhaps you might wish to elaborate on what your requirements are :)

There are some very nice and expensive parts of Watford. There are some very dodgy parts of Snorbans.

You need to narrow the search as the price ranges are
massive, south bucks herts gets very pricy.

Work on your transport first. Chiltern line is slow and stops at Aylesbury, the route east are faster and go further.

Budget and what you you hope to get for your money will eliminate a lot.
