i have found buying online and filling out the online form is a far greater chance of being accepted, had many accepted in past and recently as well

using instore price match is not as easy and would never buy instore on a tv as they always use the 5yr warranty as a get out when competitors don't include this , they never mention it when using online form

ps: i think they include vouchers if its advertised on the competitors website for all to see , if its via a voucher site for example they wont include it
Thanks, I was unsure what they considered a valid code for price match, that would have been my guess.
Normally I would have purchased online, I was only in store to compare with the plan to go home an order from JL anyway, but the team member was extremely helpful so I purchased on the spot.
Power Direct are notorious for claiming things in stock when they are not. Did their TV include the 5 year guarantee too?
Yeah, same guarantee. It is the matter of stock that is the issue for JL and I can't argue with that. They claim to have been in touch with PD and asked for stock status for the dates of my calls and were told the price was for pre-orders. I know for a fact they had stock at the reduced price during the time-frame of my calls but can't prove it in any way that would make a difference so I will just have to let it go.
Not that it counts for anything but JL didn't say they wouldn't have honoured the code I'd mentioned and confirmed the price with it.

Does seem strange they would bother to dig through their stock history but not impossible I suppose and I can't disprove any of it. I have been speaking with a PD customer from another forum that ordered during my match request and received one but I don't think JL will want to know.
The time period for matches closes on Monday so there isn't much more I can do. Win some, lose some.

Richer Sounds provide an excellent service and even help out with products bought elsewhere, if to be used with a product bought from them. (They helped set up my Wii as the new tv had different inputs from the old one and even spent an hour in their demo room, trying to help me connect my laptop to new speakers via Bluetooth, when they knew it wasn't a speaker problem.)

Any tv 32" or over ,needing repair, will be collected by them, too, so no need to return it to the store.
  • John Lewis don't price match online only stores.
Just read through this and understand it's old thread for but anyone reading now like me lol I thought it best to point this fact out.
Unless power direct have a physical store with the product in stock, don't expect a price match!

Maybe you should've checked this point out before resurrecting an old thread.
