UGG Australia - AVOID!

When I was in Australia recently I ordered a pair of Uggs online from UggAustralia.
SO disappointed when they arrived and the whole seam on the back of one boot was unstitched, just a gaping hole!
Having seen their website (“the only Aussie sheepskin footwear manufacturer preparing materials in our own tannery in Melbourne, Australia…We are proud of our land, our products, and our name…”) I pretty much assumed they would be mortified that such a bad fault had got through their quality control and would want to sort it out immediately. But no. Turns out it is all spin.
I have been e-mailing back and forth for 3 weeks, have sent photos of the fault, and have returned the boots. There has been no hint of an apology; instead they refer me to their small print which says
“we do not provide refunds but offer repair or exchange of incorrect or faulty product”.
A replacement is not an option as I am no longer in Australia, and they will not send them to me here. According to the official Australian consumer watchdog, the ACCC, you have the right to ask for your choice of a replacement or refund. Also it is against the law for businesses to tell you that they do not give refunds.
This is not some crappy ripoff website; this is the “real” UggAustralia; the only fully Australian-made ugg boots in the world. (They are sold as Roman & Ludmila overseas because Deckers registered ‘Ugg’ as a trademark in the US.)
Their managing director says in the press “It's about the loyalty that people know because they've tested one of those products that falls apart…”:rotfl:
Yet there seems to be no quality control on their products, and their customer service is appalling.

I'm a bit confused about the name of this company.
I've ordered a few pairs of UGG boots from this website:
http://www.ugg.com/uk/
The quality has always been excellent.
They are branded 'UGG Australia' on the boots but I don't think they market outside of Australia as 'Roman & Ludmilla'.
The company in the link above are very clear on their website about the materials they use and the source.
Do you have a link to the website you actually used?
I think it's important when complaining about a company that there is no confusion about which company you are talking about.0 -
It doesn't appear that Roman & Ludmila has any connection with UGG

I seem to remember that genuine ugg boots aren't made in Australia therefore the ones you bought aren't the recognised uggs we all know. Having a quick, look at the website their ugg boot sole looks different there are very few products on it. Uggs make hundreds of of different styles and products ( you can buy uggs in all colours not just brown) . Roman and ludmila have one ' concept' store in a furniture shop!0

Genuine Decker UGG boots are made in China (they used to manufacture in New Zealand also)
UGG is a generic term in Australia....like we would go and buy "trainers" (not brand specific)...many companies manufacture and sell UGGs0 -

True.
Their Australian website is https://www.uggaustralia.com.au/
and their international one is

I don't see any connection to Deckers. Looks like they are a completely different company both selling UGG style boots with Deckers being made in China and uggaustralia being made in Australia
..the fact that they are not Deckers obviously does not mean they should be poor quality...I am sure there are many many brands of UGGs that are excellent quality and not to be confused with counterfeit copies0 -

I bought a pair of Ozwear UGGs from a private seller on ebay. (brand new with tags) and they are fabulous quality.

There's also EMU boots.

Thanks.
I've had Emu's before, and maybe next time I'll try the Ozwear.
I wanted real Aussie uggs, and I don't get all this "Deckers are the only real uggs" thing0
