PPI on Tempo Hire Purchase

Around 1999-2000, I bought a PC on a hire purchase agreement from the electrical retailer Tempo. As I no longer have the PC or any paperwork, the only information I can recall for certain are the store I bought it from and my home address at the time.
What I am hoping is that although Tempo are now dissolved, the hire purchase agreement was provided by a separate finance company that is still operating. But so far I have been unsuccessful finding out. I am wondering what my chances are in making a successful PPI claim and how to go about it?

I doubt you would have any success with this even if you had all documentation as it was pre regulation.
Tempo sold you the finance and not the financial institution in any event.0 -
On what basis do you think you were mis-sold it (if you even had it)?0

You won't be able to complain to "a separate finance company" about the sale of any PPI as it was Tempo who sold you the insurance.
Since this is a pre-regulation (2005) complaint, you can't approach FSCS either.
Time to forget about this, especially as you have no documentation and no proof that you even had PPI on this agreement.0
