We are naughty tumblers too. Though by tumbling to nearly dry, then hanging up (from picture rails in the bedroom) clothes don't then need ironing. Plus in the 'windows closed' months, we put the 170W dehumidifier on to help dry them out, which is often covered by the PV.
I don't mind sorting the rubbish, be we only have black bin, food waste, and combined recycling, so no hardship. Plus a garden waste green bin.Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 28kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.
For general PV advice please see the PV FAQ thread on the Green & Ethical Board.0 -

I don't recycle anything. To be fair, I think the environmental benefits of household recycling are vastly exaggerated by companies with financial interests in the large subsidies they receive. They might as well be getting subsidies for making chocolate teapots far as I'm concerned. So, I just put everything in the household waste bin. However, that doesn't mean I don't care about the resources that are used to make things. I try to minimise, within reason, and we're not big household waste producers. At most our household of three people loosely fills a carrier bag a week. We don't throw out dirty things, so the bin rarely gets put out. I'd be happy with four collections a year - and mostly because that would give some extra room for the occasional clearing out or DIY around the house.0

I drive a car that is bigger than my needs, but its 17 years old (less than 50 k on the clock) I use it once or twice a week and have a very low mileage, its not worth much and replacing it would cause more waste than keeping it!Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. There is no more hope for a fool than for someone who says, "i am really clever!"0
