Hi
Our purchase is slowly progressing this time round... and we are hopeful we get to the exchange/completion.
We are now being asked for details of Building insurance and I wonder if any one had any recommendations... for cover, price, ease of dealing with in event of a claim etc.. ?
thanks

Do comparisons and then look at reviews of ones within your price range.
Prices are dependant on so many different factors, who is cheap for one person isn't cheap for another, and it depends on the level of cover you want as well.0 -
Don't forget to get cashback, through, for example, Quidco or TopCashback. Well worthwhile, and making the cost far more reasonable.0

For contents insurance you just need to make sure what you are covering covers what you have... if that makes sense! and at a level you are happy with.
For us, a very important factor was how different providers treat adult bicycles. They can be pretty expensive bits of kit and whilst we don't have anything too extravagant they are beyond what one may spend on a child's bike of course. And the nature of the item means it probably won't be inside, so anyone who charged a lot extra per month for them was off our list! John Lewis ended up being quite sensible with regard to bikes so we went with them and have stuck with them since.
Initially I used comparison websites to get an idea of what people offered and had a look at a few in detail.0 -
A good starting point would be this article from the main MSE website:
