Fitted wardrobes..fair price?

Hi
Does anyone know if this seems a fair price for fitted wardrobes with sliding doors.
One company quoted £2000 with sliding doors, two double wardrobes behind that included 6 drawers and 2 hanging rails and one shelf inside.
The size is H 232 x W 212 x D 42
I have had a second quote and he emailed me back saying £1550 depending on board choice (none gloss) however I have emailed him back to clarify the details ie does this include the internal drawers etc so this price may not be accurate.

It sounds in the right ballpark - is that bespoke made by a local joiner?0

Its just a local fitted wardrobe company and I think the doors are pretty standard Ive seen them other places, they actually look similar to the Ikea sliding doors but are obviously fitted properly0 -
You might be better finding a local carpenter or handyman as this is what I did when I went for sliding wardrobes in my bedroom, floor to ceiling & approx 11' wide. I ordered the doors & rails etc. then explained to my guy exactly how I wanted the interior of the robes to be, a mixture of shelves & hanging plus space for a low chest of drawers. Labour cost was £150 per day & was completed in under 3 days.
Prior to taking this route, when I'd checked online to get a rough estimate of cost from wardrobe companies, the prices were in the 2k-2.5k region. Mine came in at under £1k, so I was more than happy. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
Hi, we move threads if we think they’ll get more help elsewhere (please read the forum rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board. If you have any questions about this policy please email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com.
I’ve moved your thread from the ‘In my home’ board to the ‘Is This Quote Fair?’ board, where it is better suited.
