Hi,

I've got broken left wing mirron on my honda civic viii. I'm wondering if insurance company can cover cost of replace it? I've read some threads on forum and some Peaopl said that cost of replacement is between 200-300 pounds. Also, some of the insurance companies can increase insurance cost for next few years, beacause of it. Have anyone had similar situation?

Have a look on ebay for parts, probably not worth getting it fixed via insurance.

Do you need the whole wing mirror or can you get just the part that's broken?

@neilmcl I've been thinging about this same. I've found in google honda manual with instruction how to disasamble door/wing mirror. I'm unsure if I need entire wing mirror or maybe just a plastic cover. All electric is working perfectly. I reckon that maybe some of the plastic is broken inside of wing mirror as it's not statnding anymore. You can see it on attached image in my firt post.

I'm still don't find any wing mirror. The worst part is that I need make new MOT and I'm unsure if I'll pass it with broken wing mirror.

Does the mirror not just push back into place?

They're usually designed to do just that.........

I used black tape to hold it on the right place.

As long as it has a drivers side one and an internal rear view mirror and there are no protruding remnants of the broken one it should pass.
