PPI same as TMPP???

Options
Can any of you help me out, please?

Im going through some old paper work, to look for any PPI evidence!

Ive found an old mortgage offer, and the wording in one letter, says:

'SUITABILITY
Based on what you have told me, I would recommend that you take out the optional TMPP policy.The TMPP Is suitable for you because;

MORTGAGE REPLACEMENT COVER
WE identified a need to replace your income should you become unemployed and be unable to work due to account, sickness or disability, in order to help you maintain your mortgage payments.
This plan aims to help assist the payment of your mortgage commitment in this circumstance.
Life cover\
you don't not appear to have a need for life cover.

critical illness cover
You do not appear to have a need for critical illness cover.'

Then it goes on to talk about me, and how I don't really need its I didn't earn enough

We had life cover and critical illness with another policy, not with them.
Your thoughts?
We tried to claim, and they closed it, giving us 28 days to open it up again.

It seems like it was appropriately recommended to you.

Do you then choose to take it out?

What is your reason for mis sale, if you chose to take it out on the back of a recommendation?

We are just going through paper work, to see if we are due old PPI payments. People have be claiming PPI, and not realising they even had it.
Just wondered if we were due any thing, or if its above board.
Which is why I wondered if TMPP is the same as PPI

There's no indication from what you've said that it was mis sold to you.

You are not due anything. That is not how it works.

MPPI is still retailed today. It is not a bad product and it fits an important financial need.

TMPP is a retail product name and not a generic name. TMPP is a multi-segment policy that can include a number of types of insurance. MPPI being one of them.

The issue is not about the product. It is about the sale of the product and whether it was compliant or not. Nothing you have said in this thread so far suggests any mis-sale has taken place.

They really haven't. That's a myth sponsored by claim companies trying to drum up custom.

Forgetting about or failing to read paperwork before signing it doesn't mean the insurance was added without the customer's full knowledge and permission. Refunds are not granted simply on the basis that a customer claims not to know about it.

In your case, the insurance was clearly added at your own behest and the policy was tailored to your individual needs. Unless you can find a reason for the PPI being unsuitable, I can't see you have a valid mis-selling complaint.
