Incorrectly issued Parking Charge Notice
I have recently been issued a PCN by Excel Parking.
The car park is pay and display where the VRM is entered. Entry and Exit is ANPR controlled.
The PCN stated I had not made sufficient payment for the length of time stayed.
The PCN was for the usual £60 early payment or £100.
I have located the pay and display ticket which clearly shows the vehicle left the car park with over 30 minutes to spare. The VRM on the Pay and display ticket is correct.
I have appealed this with Excel and and the PCN has been cancelled.
In short I have been lucky that I was able to locate the pay and display ticket, otherwise I would have struggled to appeal the PCN. Am I entitled to any compensation for the time and stress involved in resolving this issue. I feel the company should be penalised in some way as others must be effected by the same error by Excel.
I understand a DPA offence may have been committed by Excel.
Could anyone provide and advice about this situation.
Thanks in advance
Neil

If you can quantify your loss, you could invoice them.0

Take your query to the dedicated Parking Tickets sub-forum (linked at the top of this forum). You'll get advice there from people who are familiar with these parking companies and the law in general around parking and possible DPA breaches.0
