Named driver if already insured

Hi all, I think this is OK but I wanted to check just to be sure. My wife just got her car insurance renewal, and needless to say, it's extortionate. Shopping round she has already got it down to half the price, and even cheaper if she puts me as a named driver. Question is......I also have my own car upon which I am insured, but can I still be a named driver on my wife's car insurance at the same time?

Many thanks.

Yes. We both have our own insurance and are named drivers on the other's insurance.

You should check both policies to see what the terms are.

Belting insurance just bagged!! Thanks guys. Went with Admiral who were £229 cheaper than last years cover (with Octagon), and a staggering £683 cheaper than Octagon's renewal quote!!!
One thing we did discover though. After going through the motions online and processing the payment, we got an error saying that payment could not be done online, so we had to call them. When asked why, he said that there was a claim on the Claims Exchange Database concerning our car. Turns out that the claim was prior to when we purchased the car back in 2015, but had we known that it had been involved in an accident, maybe we wouldn't have bought it.
Hey ho! A massive saving had anyway. Everyones happy.

Except the insurance company that tried with an extortionate renewal quote.

You will need to answer the question about driving other cars on your renewal.
