Turkey Visa

But surely anyone looking at the thread prior to purchasing a visa would benefit from knowing that these scam sites exist? Forewarned and all that.
Absolutely - But that is already covered in this thread without going completely off-topic.
Which is why I suggested getting the post moved to one of the established threads - of which there are several IIRC. Its a subject already well catered for on MSE and they would probably have got much more practical help much faster on any of them as opposed to hijacking a random irrelevant thread.0 -
Folks.....anybody out there had any recent problems getting their Turkish e-visa?
I've tried several times in the last 48 hours using the Official online website.
All is well until I submit the application.....I then get a Successful Submission message on the screen, and am told that an e-mail giving payment instructions has been sent to me. Nothing received, not even as junk.:(
I've messaged their helpline, but was just wondering if anyone else has had the same problem recently?

Got an e-mail reply from the Turkish MFA...
"Your email address may be preventing the emails coming from us. Thus, please either check and fix your email settings or make a new e-Visa application using a different and valid email address. If you still cannot get through please check with your email provider. You are advised to use an email account from hotmail or gmail."
I can't imagine what might be wrong with my e-mail address as I'm getting the blighters all the time, and I received the above MFA e-mail no problem.
Anyway, I created a gmail account, made out 2 new online applications, sent them, got an immediate response, paid the US$40 fee + 70 cents service charge, and printed off the e-visas.
Ready for the off.....2 lazy weeks AI at the Sentido Perissia in Side [Nr Antalya].:)0 -
Thanks for letting us know Pete. It does seem odd that the message got through but not the visa!! I was only saying to a friend the other day how easy it is to obtain the visa.
Have a great time. I just love Turkey.0 -

It's the 3rd e-visa we've had since they were introduced, and as you say the online process is usually so easy.Have a great time. I just love Turkey.
Thanks. One of our favourite destinations too.....Istanbul [3 times], Ankara, Cappadocia, Bodrum Peninsula, Icmeler, Fethiye, Antalya [2], Alanya, and this is our 2nd trip to Side.
Some people moan about the hassle and unwanted attention they've had to put up with. But in our experience, so long as you avoid the main tourist hives you'll have a wonderful time.0 -
Further to #24, #25, and #26 I decided to post on the Trip Advisor Turkey Forum...
