It may or may not be applicable to this case, but e-prescriptions are open to abuse. I recently went to my GP to collect a prescription and was told it had been done electronically to a pharmacy I use, but had told the pharmacy twice that I did not want to nominate them. I called to the pharmacy to collect the prescription and find out why they had contacted my GP to nominate themselves. They checked their records and told me the date it had been done. I hadn't even been in town that day, let alone in the pharmacy. Their excuses varied from 'I must have forgotten I was in town', to 'as you always use us it seemed the obvious thing to do', to 'the assistant must have misheard you'. How I could have been misheard when I wasn't there was never explained. I was certainly never asked to sign the prescription form when I collected.

They are not allowed to do this and they can get done for it

    this is what is says

It is important that any complaint about nomination is investigated and dealt with appropriately. By following this guidance complaints about nomination will be minimised.

Here are some examples of nomination complaints:

GPs setting nominations for all patients to one pharmacy without patient consent

GP practice refusing to set nominations.

If the patient wishes to register a formal complaint, they should make that complaint to the pharmacy, DAC or GP practice in the usual way.

Patients can also complain to NHS England or their local Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) for example if their complaint cannot be resolved.

    Or see this

Electronic prescriptions are not and never will be mandatory no matter what the Pharmacist or GP says, I wont have one I am rarely in the town where I live, and work on 3 or more sites so cant have a pharmacy where I work and I am fed up with Boots screwing up my husbands prescriptions they are useless

Many times I've signed it and forgot to tick the box and my pharmacist says don't worry I'll do it.

Yes you sign it not the pharmacist even if they tick the box for you if you haven't shown proof they will also tick the evidence not seen box

I haven't signed a prescription for many years ( not even for controlled drugs).

if you're not exempt but expected and knowingly received the medication for nothing then that's not wholly the carers fault. Yes they lied, but you knew you hadn't paid for them and put them in that position.

You also have a responsibility to the carer, for example I have a prepayment certificate and am not able to get to the chemist, the friend who collects my prescription has the date in his diary of when I need to buy a new certificate, as do i, because otherwise I would be causing him to commit fraud when he signs for my prescritipion

'Yes they lied, but you knew you hadn't paid for them and put them in that position'

Hmm no because I only found out once I got the Letter that I never paid for them once I got the letter so no I never put them in any position. As I previously mentioned, the carer is the one with access to information about me, info that I don't know.

So what part of my post ever said that I knew that I had never paid for them because I never said such a thing.

'You also have a responsibility to the carer'

Oh so If a carer took advantage of someone with mental illness/disabilities such as myself (accept my carer would never do that to me) it is still the disabled person's fault?

'I have a prepayment certificate and am not able to get to the chemist, the friend who collects my prescription has the date in his diary of when I need to buy a new certificate, as do i'

My carer is the one with the information about me and as far I know I don't have any prepaid plan. I was also kept in the dark about paying any meds.

I have mine delivered and have to sign separately for receipt of delivery and controlled drugs, separately.

Boots delivery drivers have not missed asking since I've had a controlled drug, but before a number of them didn't ask and one said that some signed 'for you' ; making the process meaningless if no checks are made. (paper forms so no electronic signature checks)

This story is changing as originally it was stated that the counter assistant refused to let the carer see the forms, but later we are told that the carer said he/she ( ?...posters own words) ticked the wrong box deliberately.

Another odd point: In another of the OP's threads , they state that the carer is the only person who uses the OP's card, so why the question of having no money ?

They only use my card when I am with them.

So how did you think he had paid for the prescription?

Is this a paid carer or a friend/ family member?
