Confused, Orange/Freeserve eMail

Today my OH received a scam eMail supposedly from a bank in California. It appeared on her iPhone.
It was sent to her old Freeseve account xxx@yyy.freeserve.co.uk
As Orange/Freeserve stopped at the end of May I'm puzzled as to how this got through.
If she tries to log on to Freeserve using the old link:-
https://web.orange.co.uk/r/login/?ServiceId=mdsp&target=http%3A%2F%2Femail.orange.co.uk%2Fservice%2FSA%3FVS%3DMAILWELCOME
there is just the standard message about the accounts are now no longer available.
Can anyone explain what is happening here?

Is her Iphone still set to check her Freeserve account when checking emails? I've disabled my old Wanadoo account on my Iphone and Windows Live Mail as well as in the replacement Gmail account.0

Hi dggar,
Chrishazle is spot on, you’ll have the opportunity to do this for a short period between the 12th and 28th of June you have the chance back up and export your old emails to your new provider. In this time you might still receive some emails to your old Orange email address. After this time, unfortunately there will be no further access available. After this time, unfortunately there will be no further access available.
