    Morning

What beautiful weather its really good for the mood to see lovely blue sky instead of usual UK grey.
Jackie you take care hun lots of water and all that according to the forecast you are getting 34 degrees today  24 here which is just lovely for me :)

Sadly I wont see much of it today ....its the dreaded Morrisons with Mother day. Think she wants to go into the bank as well and to the tip to get rid of an old microwave ...then maybe lunch ....she hates any sun so wont contemplate sitting outside anywhere (even in the shade) so a dark pub is on the menu too :( Hopefully I can escape home in time for a little sunbathing.

Taking her a couple of (horrible) chicken and leek pies I made ...may as well prepare myself for the feedback now eh :rotfl:

Wish me luck for the day :D and enjoy yours whatever you are up too. Chuck in an extra bottle of water :A

    Morning all.
Now don't all faint because I'm up so early ! ( awaiting WM as have a 7 to 11am delivery slot )
Had a dreadful night with this heat and it's supposed to be hotter today . Typical the alarm went off at 6.30 when I was finally asleep :rotfl:. Last night we took the old WM out and we were melting, could have left it for the installers but DH wanted to renew a pipe at the back of the machine.
Nothing planned for today except putting all the stuff back under the sink and in the cupboard. It's going to be too hot. May christen the WM, will see how I feel.
Have a good day everybody and take care

    Morning everyone,

Hot here already but cloudy as well so feels muggy.

Have Pilates this morning which am not looking forward to as it's in an old building with no air con, will take plenty of cold water and give it a go.
We have the garden contractors coming today to cut the hedge, it's far too big a job for my OH with his trimmer as they use a flat back truck to get the tops done but we have a noisy day in store.
Have got some sausages out of the freezer for tea, will grill them and see if I can face doing any veg!
Hope you feel better soon Camelot.
Nelski, have fun in Morrisons :D
Have a good day folks x

It's overcast here but I'm expecting it to be very muggy today. I have the dentist this morning for a deep clean which I am not looking forward to. Apparently although I keep my teeth very clean research has shown that if microbugs are removed from beneath the gum line it helps. I don't know how true it is - w're now being told we haven't got enough bugs in our guts! She said she would do it herself because my mouth is very sensitive and last time the hygeinist hurt me dreadfully so I've been refusing to go.

Apart from that I shall vacuum round very quickly, do a food shop and then relax in front of a fan for the rest of the day.

    Morning all,

20th of June, jeeeeeso. That means it's nearly July, which is the 2nd half of the year, which means Christmas isn't far away.

A slight exaggeration but you get my point - the year has flown in.

Finished sharp yesterday but not through choice, work errands to run. Tonight I'll finish on time too as I'm car sharing with my friend so not choice in the matter. Tonight I'll have an omelette and use up some eggs and veg I have.

Might attempt a light run tonight too, we'll see.

Not much else to report for now.

Oh, decided I'm going to make scones at the weekend for the first time.

redruby - congrats!! That'll be amazing, let's hope the good weather keeps up for then.
Nelski - I love your sense of humour. Always make me chuckle, even when things weren't going swimmingly in your life. You seem a very positive person.

    Me again!
WM delivered at 9.30 however it took longer to register for 5 yr warranty than to install it.:(
However first wash done and had to keep checking to see if it was working, shows how noisy my old one was :rotfl:.
Off now to put things back in place, may be able to cull a few things as my dining room table is full of stuff from the cupboards. I'm sure I don't need half of it, but I bet if I get rid, I'll need it ! Is that s0d's law or Murphy's law?
Think I need another coffee first.
    Hugs to all.

Nanny- congrats on the new WM!

I'm still hanging around waiting for the compost delivery - I'd hope for it all to come in the morning as I've got a couple of fleeces to get to a friend in town. She works full time and is off on her hols on Thursday whilst I'll in another development day all day tomorrow. It's all draped over things in the big barn drying out.

My washing was out by 9.00a.m. and is now all dry and waiting on the bottom step. I've cleared out more junk from the small barn and then sat outside getting in the way of the birds wanting to feast from the feeders. There was a 15 minute conversation about work, I've proof-read a new document for work, read a few pages of my book and still can't settle. I know I've got the compost moving task ahead and I want to get the lawn cut again...

All that paragraph is not a moan! Just a series of observations. :rotfl:

Good afternoon, thanks to Gers for starting the thread and hugs to anyone that needs one.

My thoughts are with everyone struggling in the heat, it's lovely here forecasted to reach 20C but there's a nice breeze so very pleasant. Rain coming back from tomorrow though:(.

Today is the first day in about ten days that I've not felt really off-balance so I'm hoping this bout is eroding and I'll "just" be back at my usual level of dizzy/falling over :). Consequently I've had a productive morning, sorted out a new mobile for my Dad as his has died, ordered more steak as it was on SO (£10 for 2kg) of rump steak :D and also some venison and did some other on-line adminy bits. I'm going to take a whole duck out of the freezer (SO in Lidl around Christma)to make room and will portion that roast the legs and sous vide the breasts so they can be re-frozen. The carcass will make lovely stock for noodle dishes.:)

This afternoon I hope to begin to tackle my front garden, I'll not manage to do much at a time but hopefully in a couple of weeks I'll see the difference.

Hope everyone has a good day x

Good afternoon chums had a nice coffee morning this morning with two new U3A members joining in, and hopefully they are going to pop down to our quiz nights on a Tuesday night. DGS Henry fed and watered and the dogs walked. Just going to load DDs dishwasher for her then sit on their decking which is shady in the afternoon :)

Speky ,your are spot on about Nelski a very positive lady with a great sense of humour I met her in RL a few years ago now up at a Blackpool 'meet' and we got on very well, and dark prodigious amounts of vino until the wee small hours, she is my 'adopted DD' :):):)

The weather here is very hot and uncomfortable and not the weather for doing a great deal.
Nannywindow my Dd got her new machine last week and its brilliant and almost silent by comparison the the old clattery one :)

My son-in-law bought DD a beautiful bunch of flowers yesterday, he is such a lovely chap, her baby no.5 which she sadly had still born 14 years ago is never forgotten, even though she went on to have baby no 6 safely. He never forgets and every year buys her flowers from her little lost son.
He is a lovely man and although says few words, shows his love for her and the family in all the things he does for her (and me :))

Next week their eldest boy Ben, my DGS comes home for a few days from Uni before he goes off to Canada for several weeks to visit his g/f who is doing an internship out there. I am really looking forward to seeing him.

Right I feel the need of a nice cuppa to help cool me down .

Have a good afternoon chums and don't get too hot

No sooner had I pressed 'submit' when the compost man turned up! He decided to drive his van into the farmyard for easier access and then wheelbarrowed all 30 bags into my garden, three at a time. I was very impressed.

That meant that I managed to get into town to hand over the fleeces to my friend. She got very excited at the thought of getting them washed (by hand) and then ...whatever else needs done to make them into wool. Went to the tip with more stuff from my small barn, tried to buy peanuts from the country store but they didn't have any. Lastly came home via the SM for milk and biscuits.

Decorator popped round on the way after the school run to 'size up' the job and she helped me with the new tension rod for the beaded curtain. The friend who did the first one got it wrong.... :o

I've just my packed lunch to make up for tomorrow now. It's been a glorious day here, so sad to think that there's going to be dreadful rain for at least the next four days. Dry weather makes such a difference to life.
