Hi I've been on a fixed tariff GB energy crystal for 8 months and the fixed price is due to end in october.

I'm currently on a really cheap tariff 17.5 per day and 9.4p kwh

I've done a few price comparison sites and they are saying I can save money however when I look into it the per day and kWh are more expensive. Perhaps this is taking into account why fixed rate ends in 4 months?
My GB bill also says move onto our my GB lite tariff and save 41 pounds a year. Again this tariff is currently more expensive than the one I'm on.

I guess my question is do I stay on this tariff for another 4 months and make the most out of the low price or do I jump ship now to a slightly more expensive one but be fixed in for 12 months especially with the risk of rising electricity costs.

I'm confused about what to do. I only pay 21 pounds a month at the moment but every penny counts.

Also just to add - my current tariff has no exit fees

Whatever you move to, it will be considerably more. Stick with GB Crystal until it runs out as the deal is unbeatable. Then look around before it expires for a new supplier, although the GB deal on offer is not a bad one and could be considered when the time comes. Why would you want to pay more for the next four months?

You are doing it right by doing your own homework and ignoring that 'Save £43' forecast from GB

The £43 is based on a lunatic rule from Ofgem that when calculating future costs for customers nearing the end of their Fixed Term, that the customer will do nothing and drop onto their suppliers Standard Variable Tariff - Thus allowing companies to claim XX savings, even though tariff prices have increased

    Why even ask the question?

Ah, I see this was posted at 2am - perhaps therein lies the answer

    Good luck!
