What to do with prizes you don't want?

  • I've recently started using PostPals after seeing it mentioned on here and now I actually enter for all children's toys in the hope of winning something to send kids on there. I used to get the occasional runner up prize that was too young for my kids so PostPals is ideal for that.

Otherwise I sell, give away or gift something I win but it turns out I don't need/want. My daughter's school holds raffles regularly so they get a few bits too.

May you all have lots of luck, Emma xx

I tend to only enter for those that I can use or gift.

Wedding related - I'm engaged so every little helps.
Baby/Toddler and Children items - great gifts for my relatives, we have a huge variety of ages and people expecting.
Pets - I can usually make use of, if not I have family members that can.
Clothes - Our family are a variety of sizes.
Technology - My partner is a technology geek.
Edibles - we are always up for trying new things, if we were to win a few boxes of something and not like it, we can donate to a food bank.
Craft Items - I absolutely love all things crafty.
Holidays or tickets - I check the dates and only enter for those that I can fulfill.

Any runner up prizes or prizes that are not needed by us will either be gifted to charities, food banks or the occasional thing sold on.
Thank you to everyone who posts competitions and good luck to everyone who enters.

I've only ever won 1 prize that I didn't want (apart from a rubbish runners up prize goody bag, which arrived in the post with half the stuff broken) - it was a baby toy, so I asked them to redraw. Obviously I was only able to do so because they emailed first, if it had just turned up in the post then I would have donated it to the toy bank or my local toy library (it's run locally for children in foster care) :)

I only enter things I want personally - I don't have time to enter so many others :)

If i win something I didn't necessarily want (a runners up prize normally) then it's either a gift for someone or sue ryder

But after reading this thread, next time i win something I don't want, then I'll check out postpals
