Good morning kittykath123 and welcome to the forum.
Already some good advice on the thread so thank you very much.
I'm not sure I fully understand the full picture, so I'll ask a few questions if that's ok?
I understand you built up a debit balance, we would have sent many letters, phone calls before sending a rep round, was anything agreed before setting this £10 a week up with us directly.
It does sound like you're paying the money to the debt collection agency and they appear to be the ones charging interest.
How are you paying for the ongoing usage of gas and electricity? I'm not sure if you have anything in place and that's why the balance is growing?
Have you checked the account is billed to accurate meter reads to get the correct current balance and asked if you're on the best tariff for you?
footyguy is right, you need to see the billing and payments history, if you have an online account you can view it on there.
I also agree that you need to speak to us, we have a credit operations department and they're the ones that can help explain and discuss future payments and get something in place that you can afford.
They can also talk to you about maybe having pre-payment meters.
I'm sorry about all of the questions, I think there's some information missing and I don't think we've explained everything to you by the sounds of it.
Speak to credit operations and go from there.
Thank you

Hello Helena , and thank you for taking the time to reply to me. I no longer live at the property in question, I have now moved in with a family member as I could not afford to live on my own, as I am a student nurse. I did tell eon I was moving and provided them with my new address, however because I am now living with family, I don't have an account with eon anymore so I don't think your credit operations department can help anymore can they?. I think I am paying the money to a debt agency after speaking to citizens advice phone line yesterday, however the local enforcement officer is no longer returning or answering my calls so until then I am unable to sort this out.0

Hi footyguy,
I didn't realise the money wasn't being paid until the tuesday after a bank holiday monday until I spoke with my bank on monday, I just assumed it would automatically be paid out on the day it was supposed to, this standing order was set up in sept 2015 so id forgotten all about till I received a letter from them at the weekend saying they hadn't received a payment in a year.0 -

You're welcome kittykath123.
I see that answers some of the questions I was wondering about, thank you.
So, as you don't have an account anymore there's no ongoing usage, it's just this debit balance from your closed account.
I think it's still worth a call, as they can help advise on closed accounts as well, as I think you need some clarity on exactly what has happened and what is now happening with the debt.
It does sound like the balance has been sent to a debt collection agency, we can tell you who this is and how to contact them.
It'll help you understand I think and know what's what.
Thank you very much for getting back to me.

Yes, I can give you a number Kath
I can't post it on the open forum though, so you can either ring the number that we have on the E.ON website (they can put you through) Or you can email me, WebForumAdvisors@eonenergy.com
Either way is fine.
Thank you
