Scottish Power Home Comfort
Hi - I am posting this seeking some advice.
I have been with Scottish Power for around 3 years now and have only recently realised that they have been debiting my account for an amount of £18 per month for Home Comfort for a service I thought had been cancelled sometime ago.
The problem is that my type of boiler is not covered under their T&C's so they can therefore not service it. This has always been the case from when I signed with them. I made the advisor aware of the type of boiler at the time i signed up, she said it would be fine.
They had agreed to pay me back around £300, back dated, although when i queried the figure(as I believed I was owed more) they 'investigated' and withdrew the refund. They claim that I had every opportunity to cancel throughout the agreement and in their T&C's I should have been aware that they could not service the boiler.( I naively assumed they had cancelled it after their initial inspection)
The way I see it they have taken nearly £400 from me for a service that they could never provide and are refusing to refund me.
Could anyone please offer some guidance on where I could go next?
Thanks

My advice is to always check your bank statement every month, and query any debit (or indeed credit) you do not recognise or approve of.
Good luck!0 -

Hi Hull242,
So I can arrange to get this investigated further for you, could you possibly please email me at social@scottishpower.com including your full name, address and a contact number? I can then get this escalated over to a manager within the Homecomfort complaints team.
Kind regards
