Rough cost to change Plumbing Works?

I am currently having my kitchen replaced and prior to the kitchen being replaced I am having my whole flooring lifted to change the suspended flooring to concrete flooring (stop rats from getting in).

As we are having a new kitchen fitted, we have requested the building company to carry out some other works as well such as -

Changing the plumbing for the sink location (3m new location), fridge and freezer (5m new location) and washing machine (1m new location.

We have asked them to conceal the pipe work within the walls and under the floors, where possible.

The costs for the works we have been charged for is £750.
Is this price too steep or to be expected?

I would have thought as the floor is already being lifted and they are changing the position of the boiler anyway, it would have been less?

Forum users have no idea what work is entailed in your alterations. Hence nobody can comment on the price. However there is a fundamental to bear in mind. Your alterations should have been part of your original specification for the works. by not doing so you have made them an extra. Extras are always an opportunity for additional profits because they are not being priced against competitors and also because the consumer has allowed themselves to be put in a weak position. Consequently you either negotiate on the price or just pay it.

Burying pipework within walls is not good practice, and likewise the floors. However only you know the details of what you propose.

Whatever price you end up paying, make sure you understand what they are offering.

You may well assume the pipes will be copper, and they may well use plastic pipes (Hep20 or similar) without you understanding this until after the event.

In either case, you can bury the pipes within the walls or floor, but the WRAS standards are that no joints should be buried. All joints should be accessible for maintenance.

Here goes Annie - same old story, with ear muffs on oblivious to all around shouting "wake and smell the coffee". To clarify, it is not "what they are offering" it is what you are specifying, what you require and what you are paying for. You are in the driving seat and the trades people exist to meet your specification, meet your standards, meet your quality requirements and then get paid accordingly.
