I sent a payment late on Friday in GBP for a holiday which hasn’t arrived yet - I kind of expected this as I’d heard you have no progress on weekends with payments in. In terms of this Monday - I believe their customer service will be back open as it’s not a public holiday in Italy - but will the inbound payment still be held up until Tuesday (perhaps due to a partnership with a UK bank - although most UK banks process FP all the time?)
Thanks for anyone replying to my musings by the way!

Transfer can happen any day, come rain or shine, but what's important is received date.
Maybe it's obvious from the post that when you say you 'transfered' you mean 'did a successful transfer' so the recipient (you ) have received it already.0 -

I'm happy to report that FD has improved greatly over previous years.0 -

Fineco replied and resoundingly said the outbound payment is coming from Italy and as such it's Swift.
My options for receiving GBP fee free are Revolut (won't work as sort code etc only accepts local payments), Triodos, RBS and Coop which I believe all would charge a fee.Is the exhaustive list Starling, Nationwide & Santander?
This would be to withdraw any residual travel or investment money. Other options is to send Euros to Revolut…0 -
I've not tried every account I have but that definitely isn't an exhaustive list as - if you look upthread - I've been transferring money to Barclays and, same as Nationwide, it's noted as a sterling Chaps deposit. I think you're worrying too much.

Fineco were unable to state they use CHAPS in their response, I asked them quite clearly. Surely it's not that difficult for them? I know you said Swift and CHAPS can be interlinked - but they could not clarify.
"we inform you that bank trasfers to a UK account can only be made
via Swift since Fineco is an italian bank."0 -
You always have to take what CS tells you with a pinch of salt as they're probably just reading what's on the screen. My recent experience is that a GBP "bank transfer" arrives as a GBP Chaps deposit.
I've just discovered the section of the iPad app that shows you your past transfers and they're all described as, "Swift (International)."

yes that's what I saw - can't deny it is all rather confusing but par for the course I suppose
perhaps I'll try it out soon0 -
