    Buxton has plenty to offer.Pavillion Gardens,Opera House,Devonshire Dome,St Annes Well,Pooles Cavern.Carnival day this Saturday 8th July.Fairground on the market place.

    Matlock bath is nice for a walk along the river.

    Dovedale is nice but gets busy.

    The Manifold valley is a hidden gem.

    There is a stone circle at Arbour Low.

    Chesterfield is worth a visit on market day.(crooked spire)

  • Be sure to see Edensor in the grounds of Chatsworth. It used to be in front of the house, but the 6th Duke of Devonshire decided that it spoilt the view, so he had the whole village dismantled and rebuilt over the hill out of sight.

    The disused railways make nice walks, there are several: Monsal Trail, Tissington Trail, High Peak Trail, Manifold Way. The walk through the limestone gorge of Chee Dale is spectacular.
