Bannister on Eggbox wall - possible?

I am asking on behalf of my parents. My parents live in a 1970's house where all interior walls are of eggbox/paramount construction. My dad is struggling to get up and down stairs and ideally needs second hand rail fitted on the paramount wall.

Is this possible? Would the wall hold it?

Thanks in advance

I'd use hollow wall expanding metal anchors, they should still work even with the honeycomb

Do not use plasterboard fixings of any style. A hand rail should be solid

You should be able to hit some timbers, egg box will have some timbers usually 600/1200mm apart. Just screw a length of timber to this running top to bottom of the stair then fix the handrail to this . Once decorated in with the wall you'll never know it's there and atleast your getting a reasonable fixing

I used hollow wall anchors to refix a hand rail to a plasterboard wall - I used quite a few to spread the load. If you're using them, don't forget the setting tool, to properly install them.
