Just because someone will be on basic rate for tax for their whole working life does not in any way mean that they have not had considerable ambition to increase their income. By 2020 Basic rate goes up to £50k.

Four main things I would like to have done differently:
    1. To put a higher percentage into equities.
    2. To have diversified earlier into non-UK equities.
    3. To have got into the smaller companies sectors earlier than I did.
    4. To have known about the positive effects of rebalancing earlier.
But I am not sure how much of the above is simply hindsight bias !
