Carbon Monoxide Alarms - Warning!

Hi all
British Gas serviced my boiler yesterday and asked about the carbon monoxide alarm. I said that I had one, but...
It turned out it was 7 years out of date (the sensors fail apparently - and mine had failed).
Using the test button only tests that the battery is OK and the sounder works, not that the sensor works!
So please, check yours out!
My new one appears to check the sensor as well as the battery and sounder.

Had one fitted recently with a new log burner.....but had the opposite problem....it went off continuously even when we put it in the garden!! This is also a "common" problem apparently!0
