Tim tams from Tim hortons and maple syrup - it's not the same in the UK. Canadian and Vermont syrup (us) tastes different

The Canadian Maple syrup we nearly bought in Canada had the same label as the one we can buy in Tesco

Anything from Dollarama! Canadian equivalent of Poundland but much much more choice.

If you can't decide what you need to buy, i'd stay at home.

Tim Horton's is a must do - I got addicted to Maple iced latte's and french vanilla coffee..and the doughnuts, so much choice and really cheap too!

You can buy Maple syrup but like someone said above buy it in a supermarket and get the grade A if you can...

Feeling flush? the canadian diamonds in the jewellers looked gorgeous.

But the best thing to do is take loads of photos - it's a really stunning country and we have some amazing memories from our time there!

Just back from Canada last week and I'd say, particularly with the exchange rate, that there aren't any bargains to be had if that's what you're looking for.

We picked up a few 'Canada 150' bits as a nice momento, but not much else.

In fact the advice I'd give would be to buy a decent pair of walking shoes before you go, break them in, and get out and enjoy the Canadian wilderness. That's the amazing bit of the country!

As well as the famous and magnificent national parks of the Canadian Rockies (Banff, Kootenay, Jasper, Waterton Lakes and Yoho), there are also many provincial parks in Canada, of which probably one of the most famous is Algonquin in Ontario:
