EasyJet Speedy Boarding

When travelling on Easy Jet, you can now pay extra to be in the first group called forward for baording. However, I'm flying out of Bristol, and there is a bus transfer from the terminal to the plane. Has anybody been through this process? Do they make any effort to transport the speedy boarders on a separate bus, or tell them which door to stand by to get a swift exit on to the plane? Or is it a complete waste of money?
Thanks

I've read on the EasyJet site that if you pay for Speedy Boarding and there is a bus transfer, you will be called first to the bus but there is no guarantee you'll be first off it. Personally, I wouldn't bother. This space has been intentionally left blank0

Apart from a family group that may want to sit together (and usually do get boarded first) why would anybody waste good money on being boarded first ... surely if you arrive early enough you will get one of the 'A' or 'B' boarding cards which should provide a good variety of seats?
It's not like the plane is going to leave without you so you need to make sure you get on board? This 'early boarding' concept has to be one of the biggest money making scams that the airlines have managed to pull and the public are falling for it.

Oh Easy Jet Easy Jet!
I came across this for the first time when travelling to Spain in August, they let everyone form a nice orderly queue at the boarding gate (of which I was one at the front!) they then proceeded to call out SB tickets etc until there were about three of us left on our own, it was so badly organised (or not!) they read out at least three different ticket types before they let us on, I was travelling alone so didn't really care but it was such a mess.
On return the huge queue meant that we had to run through the airport and straight on the plane despite being their two hours before departure, didn't even have time to stop at the toilets, all this one queue for all flights is awful ,there were people in front of me trying to check in for a flight three hours after mine.

Its good in theory. We travelled from Glasgow to Alicante, at Glasgow SB passengers got on the plane fine but at Alicante there was a bus transfer and I can assure you they never got on first to pick their seats. Felt sorry for them, seems a waste of money.** Mummy to little Jenna born on 23/12/07 **

work out how the bus will approach the plane, get near the midle doors so you are first out.
We were in Milan and got on the speddy boarders first bus and ended up on first. Its a game of logic, smartness and bring your running shoes.
another tip is on normal walk on flights is for one of the party to have speedy boarding. Us brits never sit together by choice so by the time i get on, the front seat is free.
Also, why do people take so long to get off a plane?0 -
Flew out of Bristol last week with Easyjet. We walked to the plane in an orderly queue with the SpeedyBoarders at the front. Seemed to work well.0

We flew from stanstead to ibiza last week. We didn't pay for speedy bording but printed out our own boarding passes. This didn't cost us anything. We didn't need to queue up to check in an when the boarding started we were called up first because we had 'A' boarding passes. This worked well on the way out but on the way back we had to use a bus to the plane. So i'm glad we did it but I'm glad we didn't pay for it either.0

I agree. The buses at Bristol are quite large and probably take 40+ passengers each. In my experience the first people to board the bus, are often the last people to get off, as the last boarders are closer to the exit door.
Sometimes buses aren't necessary, as passengers walk to the plane. However, if you have to get the bus, I can't see how they enable early boarders.
However, you won't know whether a bus is going to be used or not.
Personally, I'd not bother paying extra for early boarding, that 'may' not be available in reality.

When there is a the possibility of a bus or walking to the aircraft, then it isn't Speedy Boarding, but they still want to charge for it, like paying for soup in a restaurant and getting a glass of water - a rip off.
IMHO charge for it when there is an airbridge, other wise don't bother.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
i think the costs reflect the chances, i.e. higher if they use an airbridge or reduced if there is a cat in hells chance0
