Believe me, it wasn't your run of the mill cake for lots of reasons. I get messages from people asking me to send a photo of it, so not only when I'm there.

    Any chance of a photo?
    You've piqued my interest. :)

Too outing. It was a lot like the "forever" cake in the gallery though.

If you've got time it's always worth falling down the rabbit hole that is Cake Wrecks. The baby shower cakes are just ... horrifying ...

    Jeez!
    They aren't cakes - they're works of art! :)

I always think "less is more" they are waay too fussy for me ! Very well made though, i can see why they're so expensive.

Too fussy for me too - and I can't imagine how you'd go about cutting them - but I can appreciate the skill.

The detail on the Eros cake - especially the pomegranate - is gob-smacking.

Me too, I can't stand a gaudy food item, probably due to the fact that we have a lot of travellers in the family.

Every other aspect of the wedding was very simple - dress, flowers, meal etc. So the cake was a real centrepiece. We only used a quarter of it on the day and the rest froze beautifully, with some coming out for DH's 30th, then mine and then our 5th anniversary. We scoffed the rest in the early days of being parents. And it still tasted perfect.

    Something of an investment!

And at the end of the day - it was your choice and your money. :)

Not my cup of tea at all.

The world would be a boring place if we all liked the same things though.
