thanks I will pop to Halfords for this,
They may well not have something like a pollen filter in stock. I usually use Eurocarparts.com - good prices and quick delivery.

The 'wet dog' smell is very typical of a soggy and rotting pollen filter. Car carpets are designed to get a bit wet from time to time, and they usually dry out on their own. It's only when you get the car flooded, or wash them with liquid shampoo and then don't dry them properly that you get problems. From what you say, my money would be on the PF rather than the carpets.
If someone is nice to you but rude to the waiter, they are not a nice person.
  • I use antiseptic spray for that motive. Works superbly. You can also spread baking soda and leave it night long, then vacuum. Or put an open can of black coffee to suck up the smell. I believe in selling the car is an utmost point Firstly, Simply you have to find out mobile valeting company of trying to sort it out from this problem.:)

Which they've probably done quite a lot in the eight months since this was posted...
  • Dog poo is another potential source. Had a relative whose dog had itchy bum and used the carpets as toilet paper. Took ages to realise what it was. Smelt like rotten milk.
