Boiler keeps switching off

Hope somebody can shed light. My boiler intermittently keeps switching off. Fires up ok in a morning for hot water, but when I come home it is off. Usually I can restart by hitting reset button on boiler, but some nights it's not having it. Any ideas would be gratefully received. Cheers

Probably help if you mentioned the make and model of boiler, there is more than one!0

It is Patterson floor mounted boiler Patterson kingfisher. I know it is old, but is service every year and I have often mentioned changing it, but told that whilst parts are still available there is no immediate need0

Is it a kingfisher 2, is there an exact model number on it. Kingfisher 2 had a red lockout light, is that coming on. If so and doesn't happen on the first demand I would suspect overheat after hot water demand. Get the pump/ overheat stat checked.0
