I am trying to get an OTG adapter (https://www.amazon.co.uk/UGREEN-laptops-Ultrabook-Android-smartphone/dp/B00Q2ONMI0/ref=sr_1_7?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1497437473&sr=1-7&keywords=UGREEN) to be recognised by my Moto G phone (supposedly it should work) – but as yet – no good
Anyone successfully used OTG with Android 7 ?
What is the procedure ?

What version MOTO G ?
Have you tried connecting that to your phone and then plugging in a memory key ?
You 'MIGHT' have to use a power supply for your hub.
My G3 (Android 6.1) works with a powered hub and an OTG cable as my hub does not have the micro USB connector.
OR just the cable and a memory key also works fine.

Its a Moto G 4 and yes - I did try with a USB key in - but nothing was seen by the phone !
I didn't use a PSU on the adapter - could that be a reason - it does work as a USB hub without any power on Windows !0 -
I don't think anything will happen until you actually plug something into it - a mouse for example, should give you a mouse pointer on the screen if you wiggle it around. That would be the easiest way to test it. I've just got a 1 cable USB to MicroUSB connector and I've never had any trouble with it, but it certainly won't register if I plug it in on its own.0

Yes, hubs need power, so if there's not enough available from the tablet it won't work. Add power to it if you can. A USB hub on an Android phone or tablet is either overkill or not using it for what you're meant to, IMO.0
